What:
The release of a mother duck, and her
eight babies into Suisun Marsh. After being hit by a car
and suffering from a broken leg,
a Good Samaritan rescued her and her nine babies from the side of a highway.
She was brought to IBRRC and her babies stayed with her while her leg healed.
The center is currently caring for over 400 orphan baby ducks. Many baby
ducks are orphaned because mothers are killed by cars.
Who:
IBRRC is world-renowned for its work rescuing
and treating waterfowl and aquatic birds from oil spills.
The center also treats thousands of injured
and orphaned birds from ten counties in Northern California. Director,
Jay
Holcomb,
will be releasing the birds and answering questions.
